Why The Day You Book Your Flight Matters For Your Wallet
A new report from Upgraded Points shows that the day you book your flight can impact the price. After analyzing over 44,000 flights, the study found that Mondays and Tuesdays typically offer the lowest fares, with an average 5.2% discount. In contrast, Saturday is the most expensive day to book, with prices averaging 7.3% higher. Airline choice also matters. United flights are cheapest on Sundays, while Delta offers the best deals on Thursdays, saving travelers around $35. JetBlue and Spirit flights tend to be cheapest when booked on Mondays and Tuesdays. American Airlines showed the smallest variation in price by day, but Thursdays and Fridays were slightly better for deals. The report didn't include Southwest, which doesn’t list fares on Google Flights. However, Southwest now offers weekly “Wanna Go Wednesday” discounts. Other airlines, like United and JetBlue, have special deal pages and tools like JetBlue’s “Best Fare Finder.” Booking 2.5 months before departure is still considered the best time for flight deals. For hotels, booking 15 days in advance is ideal. Travelers are encouraged to use price match and cancellation policies to maximize savings.

I’ve traveled to 29 countries. My favorite is one I almost didn’t visit — and I loved it more than Italy and Greece.
I’ve traveled to many places, but none have captured my heart quite like Croatia. It wasn’t at the top of my bucket list, but the moment I stepped onto the Adriatic coast, something just clicked. It has that Mediterranean charm I’ve found in other countries, but with a relaxed, genuine vibe that feels different. The sea, the people, the cities—they all just seemed to fall into place. I’m not sure if it’s the light, the scent of pine trees, or the peacefulness that sweeps over you when you leave the main roads behind, but Croatia stayed with me long after I left.
